A cold pool of air will linger over the southeast of Victoria, with a high over the west and a deep low well out over the Tasman Sea.

Areas of rain are affecting East Gippsland, but the alpine resorts will only see the very edge of that - so it is light snow, but very cold.

The high moves later on Wednesday, clearing the weather. Our next front crosses through on Friday with snow showers.

OUTLOOK

A new front crosses through on Saturday, followed by another on Sunday. These will also bring snow showers, with the most on Saturday (slightly stronger front).
