Rain turns to snow again tonight, before easing tomorrow. Dry weather returning.

Summary:

A deep low pressure system moved out over the Tasman Sea overnight, but is making one final swing back towards the coast this morning.

This brings heavy rain to the New South Wales south and central coasts - while precipitation affects alpine areas, coming in from the southeast. It is able to fall as snow above 1800 metres this morning, but will be all rain this afternoon. It should fall as snow again tonight, above 1700 metres.

The low finally moves away tomorrow morning. Our airmass cools, with snow likely down to 1500 metres on Tuesday, but the low is moving away. So, the bulk of the moisture will leave as well and precipitation eases.

High pressure will dominate for the rest of the week, ensuring dry weather and cold nights.

Outlook:

High pressure will continue to dominate our weather, making it dry. Any areas of low pressure will be deflected, and not affect alpine areas.
