Only light snow showers remain today, before a stretch of dry and sunny weather.
A high pressure system is coming in, but there is a cold front crossing Tasmania today, that brings only light snow to the VIC/NSW alps. There are no more gale force winds, but they're still moderate to breezy.
The high will stall near the alps on Friday and the weekend, bringing light winds and plenty of sunshine. Its cold enough for snowmaking on Friday and some of Saturday, then warming up.
The next front arrives later on Monday. The high will ensure its too warm for snow, but also makes it weak with limited precipitation. But there is a lot of tropical moisture to our north, with widespread rain over Queensland then New South Wales. The rain should move around with a wandering low next week - but the high may help us out, keeping most of it north of the alps.
