20 to 30 cm of snow Thursday - very cold, falling to at least 600 metres. 
Light winds and sunny breaks for the weekend.

Summary:

We are taking a mostly dry break, after snowfalls yesterday and this morning, before the next big system moves in.

There is a lot of cold air brewing over the Bight, in behind a strong cold front. The front will pass through tonight/early Thursday, followed by a second surge later on Thursday.

Snow should fall from tonight through to Friday morning, with 20 to 30 cm likely. It turns cold with the front and then bitterly cold with the

surge (trough), with snow lowering to at least 600 metres on Thursday afternoon and evening. 

The next high will be overhead for the weekend, encouraging dry weather, light winds and sunny breaks.

Outlook:

The next high is out to our east from Monday. 

Interesting to note that another surge of moisture looks set to come in from the Indian Ocean. We want that for heavy snow, but it has to meet up with a weather system at the right time.

The next system should arrive later next week, so there is a chance they may meet up and bring us more snow - but at the moment, the start of the week looks quite dry.
