Tuesday 23 July 2013
Conditions Summary:
A weak southerly change should see a few more breaks in the cloud this afternoon as we lose that socked in north-westerly feeling. The snow is, well, 60cm of powder over grass.
Synoptic Outlook:
The low pressure that has brought all the excitement of the last few days heads further east today as a large ridge of high pressure moves in from the west. That sees the winds shift southerly and a brief burst of snow showers, but conditions will start to clear from the afternoon as that ridge becomes more dominant.
Wednesday and Thursday look mostly fine, but then north-westerlies on Friday could potentially bring back a bit of muck
Tuesday 23 July:
Southerlies. Snow showers clearing. 1 to 5cm.
Wednesday 24 July:
Dry and considerably warmer. Southerlies easing.
Thursday 25 July:
Fine. North-westerlies developing.
Friday 25 July:
Cloudy at times. Fresh north-westerlies.
Extended Outlook:
Things are still looking good for a little snow on Monday. Unfortunately we will have to cop some rain first so we may be no better off by the end of it. No sign of a big August storm yet, but I’m keeping a close eye out.
