Snow Forecast

There is a weak front clipping Victoria's coast today, with a band of precipitation. Any sunshine will give way to a burst of snow during the day, before clearing again later. Expect 2 to 5 cm from this.

Up next is a stretch of dry weather, with a high pressure system taking over. Winds are light, and there are long periods of sunshine - the weekend should be quite nice.

A cold front should break through the high on Monday, with enough cold air for snow to 1300 metres by the end of it. This should bring 5 to 10 cm of snow. Then the high will to move to our east - something that hasn't really happened this winter - which will warm it up next week.

The high will then move to our east - something that hasn't really happened this winter - which will warm it up mid next week. Unfortunately, a low is likely to move through late in the week (Friday/Saturday at this stage), and will bring rain. There's a chance it is borderline cold enough for snow at times on the peaks, but rain is more likely. It looks to be followed by a cold system though, so snow will return.

REST OF TODAY:

A period of snow during the day (as a band moves from south to north), with 2 to 5 cm. Moderate to breezy SW winds.
