A strong high pressure system will continue to extend a ridge over Victoria for some time, encouraging dry weather.

Moisture continues to pour into the northwest of the country, and cold fronts are moving by - but as long as that high is there, we will stay quite dry.

There is the chance of very light, patchy rain, tomorrow and on Saturday, then sunshine returns for the rest of the weekend.

Monday brings the chance of light showers, and it will be too warm for snow.

So, there is still no snow in the forecast period, and only the chance of light rain.

Friday

Some cloud passing through, that may produce a light spit of rain.

Saturday

Some cloud passing through, that may produce a light spit of rain. Turning sunny in the afternoon.

Sunday

Dry and quite sunny.

Monday

The chance of light showers.

Outlook: There are strong signs of the system we have been waiting for, from Thursday next week. It is a whole week away, so details will change - but if it peaks here as it looks like it will at the moment, then 20 to 50 cm is quite possible. This front is strong and knocks the high out of the way, so more fronts can follow :) ...
